As a 家庭 and 消费者科学 major, you’ll focus on the managerial skills needed in the workplace and the home, such as financial management, 压力管理, resource allocation, organization and time management skills.
Coursework covers a wide range of topics and can be customized depending on your area of interest. The consumer services emphasis includes classes in multicultural etiquette, personal and family finance and cooperative management and housing. The FCS education emphasis leads to licensure in grades 6-12 and prepares you to teach courses like leadership development, food science and nutrition, 室内设计, hospitality and social services. 作为FCS专业的学生, you’ll be eligible to sit for the Certification in 家庭 and 消费者科学 exam during the spring of your senior year.
